A quick checklist to tie into your sound application timing programme:

• Thatch – spring and autumn treatment is key
• Dusting – protects the crown
• Balanced nutrition – 4,6 kg actual N per week
• Rolling gets done weekly and will replace your Monday mow
• Reduce leaf wetness
• Irrigation and wetting agents – too wet or too dry encourages disease
• Drainage – excess water must move out as quickly as possible
• PGRs – improve density, rooting, plant health
• Pigment – protects the plant from abiotic stresses
