Hicure® - Best Use Advice

uptake

Hicure® uptake into the plant

amino_acids_3

Free amino acids
18 different free amino acids immediately available to the turf to protect cells from stress. These also conserve plant energy by providing an organic N source, thus reducing the requirements for N uptake from soil which is energy demanding

Short chain peptides
Absorbed more slowly and then as needed converted into amino acids or they form proteins as the plant needs over 7 to 10 days. Proteins have many important functions in the plant.

Long chain peptides
These can be considered as slow-release peptides, extending a positive residual effect on the soil and being absorbed into the plant over a period of weeks.

Organic Nitrogen

Hicure® contains 11.7% Nitrogen of which 10.3% is organic nitrogen to help with balanced turf growth.

As turf is exposed to many stresses, Organic nitrogen can provide several benefits to golf course turf,

  • Slow-release: Organic nitrogen sources release nutrients slowly over time, providing a steady supply of nutrients to the turfgrass without causing excessive growth or leaching.
  • Improved soil health: Organic nitrogen sources can improve soil health by increasing soil organic matter, improving soil structure, and enhancing soil microbial activity.
  • Reduced environmental impact: Organic nitrogen sources are less likely to leach into groundwater or cause runoff, reducing the environmental impact of golf course maintenance.
  • Enhanced color and quality: Organic nitrogen sources can improve the color and quality of turfgrass by promoting healthy growth and reducing stress.
  • Reduced disease and pest pressure: Healthy turfgrass is less susceptible to disease and pest pressure, and organic nitrogen sources can help promote turfgrass health.

Progam and Application

How to integrate Hicure® into program?

  • Apply Hicure® preventively as part of pre-stress conditioning programs prior to the onset of stresses such as drought, diseases, major cultural practices, and herbicide applications.
  • Hicure® can be applied in regular maintenance programs to sustain and maintain balanced turf growth.
  • Hicure® can be applied in recovery programs such as after coring exercise or any major cultural practices to speed up recovery.

Best use guidelines

  • Start Hicure® before stress begins
  • Use in maintenance programmes every 2 weeks (every 4 weeks if preferred at higher rate)
  • Integrate tank mix with Primo Maxx
  • Can be tank mixed with fungicides if required
  • Use higher rates for monthly intervals and when conditions are more challenging
  • Hicure® recommended use rate 10-20 l/ha
  • Apply at 250-500 l/ha water volume
  • Maintain good integrated turf management practices i.e aeration
