Beyond Chemistry: Shifting the Focus to Turf Resilience

Syngenta is widely recognized for industry-leading turf chemistry, including our trusted fungicides, herbicides, and growth regulators. However, this ‘Turf Sessions Event’ is different. This event is dedicated entirely to the next frontier of turf management: Turf Health and Resilience. In Turf Sessions we are shifting our spotlight away from traditional chemistry protections and controls to focus on proactive plant health soil moisture optimization and prevention and recovery from stress caused by environmental pressures.

Day 1: Educational Sessions & Course Walk

Tuesday, October 6, 2026 (Free to Attend)

Hosted inside Ullna’s state-of-the-art Indoor Training Centre, the day is structured around three distinct, small-group rotations (approx. 20 people per group) to ensure high-quality discussion and networking.

The Rotations:

Alex Cawley

Station 1:
Real-World Turf Health – The Full-Season Trial Insights

Presented by Alex Cawley, Nordics Technical Manager, Syngenta Turf and Landscape

See how turf health theory translates to the field. This session focuses on the practical integration of Syngenta’s resilience portfolio—combining wetting agents, pigments, and biostimulants alongside Primo Maxx and nutritional inputs.

Rather than theoretical science, this station features a live panel of five golf course superintendents representing a diverse range of courses (from high-budget venues to those focused on high-level sustainability). They will share their honest, real-world feedback on how these flexible programs fit different budgets, machinery assets, and resource constraints.

Sean Loakes

Station 2:
Dedicated Biostimulants – Science to Success

Presented by Sean Loakes, European Technical Manager, Syngenta Turf and Landscape

A technical session focused on the science and optimal use of Syngenta biostimulants. This station cuts through the industry noise to explore the specific mechanisms of Syngenta’s biostimulant portfolio. Learn exactly why, when, and how to apply these products to maximize plant stress tolerance, reduce declines in quality and promote recovery from environmental pressures.

Katie Dodson

Station 3:
Dedicated Moisture Management – Deep Dive into Soil Physics

Presented by Katie Dodson, Global Technical Manager, Syngenta Turf and Landscape

A comprehensive session focused entirely on the science of water in the soil profile. This session provides a comparative look at wetting agent technologies. Gain a clear understanding of how different surfactants behave in the rootzone and learn the best application strategies to optimize moisture control and soil physics.

Keynotes & Exclusive Course Walk:

  • Opening Presentation & Future Pipeline: An exclusive look at Syngenta’s upcoming product pipeline, followed by a guest presentation on the fundamental science of biostimulants.
  • Closing Summary: A collective wrap-up of the day's key learnings to take back to your course.
