How would you use Primo Maxx?

Primo is a turf care great tool to help reduce growth and could be a real help in the upcoming months helping you reduce labour required.

What rate should I go with?

This will be influenced by a number of things

• Species of turfgrass
• Height of cut
• Amount of stress the plant is under when applied
• Climatic conditions

The rate you use will directly impact the clipping yields – simply put the higher the rate the fewer clippings but the more risk you have of some yellowing turf. The above graph shows how as we increased the application rate we increased the levels of control.

The recommendation for Primo Maxx application interval on fairways is biweekly or monthly. Start your fairways application with a low rate biweekly and monitor the clipping rates. Adjust the Primo Maxx rate where you see appropriate. Use the higher rate to increase turf regulation up to 6 weeks.

Syngenta trials in the tropical climate show that Primo Maxx has good turf regulations even at a low rate. Most golf courses are getting at least a 50% reduction of clippings, increasing productivity. With Primo Maxx on fairways, many clubs managed to reduce once or twice mowing weekly and yet provided a better playing surface.
